Join us for the Second Annual Adopt a Reading Buddy Program, where children in grades K-3 can adopt their very own stuffed animal reading buddy! This exciting four-week adventure, sponsored by the Friends of the Library Foundation, encourages kids to visit the library, explore new books, attend special events, complete fun reading challenges, and make reading even more fun with a furry companion by their side. By participating, they’ll earn raffle tickets for a chance to win a giant stuffed bear at the end of the program! Don’t miss out on the fun—your reading buddy is waiting to join you on your next library adventure!
Second Annual Adopt a Reading Buddy Program: Adoption Day Event--MANHATTAN
Get ready for Adoption Day, the exciting first event of our Second Annual Adopt a Reading Buddy Program! Children in grades K-3 are invited to come choose their very own stuffed animal reading buddy. They'll receive a personalized adoption certificate and get to decorate a special house for their buddy to live in. Kids will also make a collar for their new friend, pick out a cozy blanket, and receive a booklet with all the information they need to participate in the program.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR EACH CHILD TO ASSURE A READING BUDDY IS WAITING FOR YOU.
This open house event will run from 3:30-5:30 PM, and to help alleviate congestion, we recommend visiting during a designated time slot based on your child’s last name. However, if the assigned time doesn’t work for your schedule, feel free to come during any other time slot that is convenient for you:
- A-H: 3:30 - 4:00 PM
- I-P: 4:00 - 4:45 PM
- Q-Z: 4:45 - 5:30 PM
